Elementary Education Student Teaching Scholarship

The Elementary Education Student Teaching Scholarship was established in 2019. The Donor, through her Last Will and Testament, wished to support elementary education focused student scholarships in the College of Education. Students who are in their Professional Year (i.e. Student Teaching Year) fully immerse themselves into the field of a professional teacher, performing the equivalent work and dedication of a full-time educator. This creates a deeper financial need because of the fact that the College of Education’s student teachers perform a 40-hour-plus job with no reimbursement, continue to pay tuition, and do not have the opportunity for part-time employment elsewhere. Being so, the College of Education is utilizing the generous estate gift from Eleanor “Mavis” Roberts to establish a scholarship specifically for elementary education focused student teaching to further Boise State University’s mission and to encourage others to support Boise State University.
