VERBOS SER E IR EN EL PRETERITO
Earlier in the chapter we learned about the use of regular verbs in the preterite. Now we will learn about two very commonly use irregular verbs in the preterite, ser and ir.

Ud./ él / ella | fue | fue |
Nosotros/ nosotras | fuimos | fuimos |
Vosotros / vosotras | fuisteis | fuisteis |
Uds./ ellos / ellas | fueron | fueron |
As you have noticed, both verbs are conjugated the same way. So how do you tell which one they are referring to? It depends on the context of the sentence.
