12 Check Your Knowledge: Stage 4 – Verification
Verification is the final stage in the creative process. Depending on the feedback it provides, the creative process may need to go back and make small changes, or go back and start over again with more Preparation.
Many creative works don’t go through the Verification stage, for a number of reasons. Often perhaps because the creator feels insecure about the creative work, so they never complete the process to share their outcome or refine it to make it even better.
There are 4 main kinds of Verification:
- Critical Examination
- Practical Considerations
- Feedback and Iteration
- Refinement
Getting some distance from the emotions of the Illumination and Action stage before going through Verification can help keep a more even mindset where you are open to revisions and changes more fully because you can see the project with more clarity.
Virtually all creative works have to go through the creative process more than once. Often it is many times!
