Main Activity:

Now that students are familiar with culturally appropriate greetings, they will play a game! Show the students the slide with three pictures and remind them they each represent:

  • Morning, noon, night

Draw one time of day card.

Draw a person card and hand another person card to a student in the lab.

Show the student your person and have them show you their card.

Greet the student using the appropriate greeting (considering the time of day and whether it should be formal or informal).

Now put your students in pairs and have them do the same! Have them keep drawing cards and (possibly switch partners) until a few minutes remain.
