Warm-Up:
We will be doing a survey that focuses on 好き and 嫌い. Each person will be getting a survey card with three pictures and a space for their favorite hobby.
First, using Google slides go over the difference between liking a noun and liking a verb.
Pass out surveys, markers, and erasers. Have the students stand up and begin asking each other if they like or dislike the items/activities on their sheet. Have them make a tally for everyone that agrees and likes the item/activity.
After a few minutes, have everyone come together (not sitting down since the main activity will require them to move around again) and ask them how many students like the items on the survey.
- Example:「
Ask some of the students what their favorite hobbies are and how many other people also enjoy them.
Main Activity:
There will be four stations around the lab area: Each station will have an envelope with approximately 4-6 pictures in each.
Have the students go in pairs or in threes to each station where they will compare and contrast the pictures using 〜の方が。。。より。They must create 2-3 contrasts EACH. The main activity slide has the instructions for the activity on it.
Use the ベビーメタルと北島三郎 cards as an example.
In each envelope, there is a list of questions that the students can answer after their comparisons. Encourage them to ask their own as well!
Wrap-Up:
Ask students if they have any plans for tomorrow.
End of activity:
- Read Can-Do statements once more and have students evaluate
their confidence.
(Use thumbs up/thumbs down or download our student cards.) - Encourage students to be honest in their self-evaluation.
