Japanese Level 2, Activity #9: “クラブの予定” (Online)
Description:
In this lab students will create a character and role-play creating a new school club. They are all peers talking casually, so students will practice using short form.

Materials Needed:
Warm-Up:
Students will start by creating characters to role-play. The students will pick a name, a hobby, a flaw, and to two adjectives to describe their character.
生徒はロールプレイするキャラクターを作成することから始めます。 生徒は名前、趣味、欠点、そして形容詞を 2 つ選んで自分の性格を説明します。
Once students characters are complete, they will all introduce themselves to each other in character. They are peers speaking casually, so they should be using casual form.
生徒のキャラクターが完成したら、全員がそのキャラクターに合わせて自己紹介をします。 カジュアルに話す仲間なので、カジュアルな形式を使用する必要があります。
Main Activity:
For the main activity students will role play creating a new school club! Encourage students to consider their character’s personality traits when discussing. The goal is to have a conversation in Japanese, so it’s alright if they end up talking about something other than the club. The slide does have talking points about the club for when students need some help.
主なアクティビティでは、生徒たちは新しい学校クラブを作成するロールプレイングを行います。生徒たちに、話し合うときに登場人物の性格特性を考慮するよう促します。日本語で会話することが目的なので、クラブ以外の話になっても大丈夫。スライドには、学生が助けを必要とするときにクラブについて話すポイントが含まれています。

Ask everyone what kind of club they would create!
みんなに「どんなクラブを作る?」と聞いてください。
End of activity:
- Read Can-Do statements once more and have students evaluate
their confidence.
