Japanese Level 3, Activity #4: “What do you enjoy?” / “何を楽しんでいますか”(Online)

Description:

The idea of this activity would be to ask “grab-bag” style questions regarding a number of topics. These will be loose questions that are meant to help spark conversation. So it is okay if you don’t get through all of them or if you change them a bit to better fit what students want to talk about!

Semantic Topics:

Grab-bag, review, Japanese, グラブバッグ, レビュー, 日本語

NCSSFL-ACTFL World-Readiness Standards:

  • Standard 1.1: Students engage in conversation, provide and obtain information, express feelings and emotions, and exchange opinions.
  • Standard 1.2: Students understand and interpret written and spoken Japanese on a variety of topics.

Idaho Content Standards for World Languages:

  • COMM 1.1: Interact and negotiate meaning (spoken, signed, written conversation) to share information, reactions, feelings, and opinions.
  • COMM 2.1: Understand, interpret, and analyze what is heard, read, or viewed on a variety of topics.

NCSSFL-ACTFL Can-Do Statements

  • I can ask and answer questions about things I am doing in my free time.
  • I can exchange with others some ideas about ways to stay healthy.
  • I can exchange recommendations with my peers regarding things I do in my daily life.
