Warm-Up
Heads-Up
A student will pick a vocab card above his/her head without looking
The other students will try to describe the word to the student without actually telling him/her what the word is
Once the student gets it right, another student will pick a card and repeat the process
Main Activity
Show the weather forecast video.
Discuss what the weather forecast for the weekend is.
- Weather, temperature, maybe what type of clothing to wear, etc.
The students, in pairs, receive a card with a forecast for Saturday and Sunday. The card has basic weather and temperature on it. There is general information for the morning and afternoon (and maybe evening).
- ex. Saturday has a high of 80 and a low of 60. The morning will be sunny 65, the afternoon will be cloudy 80, and the evening will be rainy 64.
The students would then present their forecasts to the other pairs to prepare them for the weekend!
Wrap-Up
Ask students the following questions to finish the lab.
- 旅行をするならどんな気候のところに行きたいですか?
- 天気予報はどこでチェックしてますか?
- 次の日の天気をチェックしますか?
End of Activity
- Read Can-Do statements once more and have students evaluate
their confidence.
(Use thumbs up/thumbs down or download our student cards.) - Encourage students to be honest in their self-evaluation.
- Pay attention, and try to use feedback for future activities!
