Warm-Up:

Open the Google Slideshow and introduce the Can-Do Statements.

For the warm-up, we will answer a variety of questions that help us to review a grab-bag of vocabulary words from Genki I

Questions:

What do you remember from 1st year Japanese?

  • 日本語の一年生時から何をおぼえてる?

What do you remember about Kanji?

  • 漢字について何覚えてる?

Main Activity:

Show students the “rules” slide that explains some basic guidelines for the activity. Use visuals or as little English as possible.

  • 私は学生一人選んで、その人にプライバットチャットで単語の言葉を送る
  • 絵を描いても漢字で書いた後で皆さんは言葉をすいそくしてみるよ!気づいたらチャットにひらがなで答えを早くタイプするよ
  • 正しく答えたのは次の書く人を選んだら私はその人に単語の言葉を送るv

In the chatbox, send students the Jamboard link:

https://jamboard.google.com/d/1EhkchFj6KD8v4kKdiMcDsozhpZIGoDBCitAZTmBt3AY/edit?usp=sharing

Using the following vocabulary list, send one student the word and ask them to draw it for the group OR draw the kanji.  Use Clear Frame to clear the screen.

Students should use their mics to ask questions and if they think they know the answer, use the chatbox to guess!  Use Clear Frame to clear the screen.

The person who guesses correctly chooses the next drawer.

Repeat the process again until the end of the lab!
