Japanese Level 5, Activity #3: “Interviews” / “インタビュー” (Face-to-Face)

- Interview Questions
Warm-up
- Run through two or so of the 四字熟語 and somehow have them either guess their meaning or try to use them in the appropriate context.
- 四字熟語 they might be able to guess better:
- 一石二鳥
- Hopefully more?? I had a hard time finding 四字熟語 that had 漢字 that the students understood as well as a meaning that was easily decipherable from the 漢字. Take a look, see if you have better luck!

Main Activity
- The students will conduct a mock interview in pairs.
- One student will become the interviewer and the other will be the interviewee.
- The interviewer will choose two to three questions from the question list to ask the interviewee.
- The interviewee will answer in detail.
- Once they are done, they will switch roles and do it again.
- At the end, the students will announce whether they would actually hire their partner.
End of activity:
- Read can-do statements and have students evaluate their confidence with cards.
- Encourage students to be honest in their self evaluation.
- Pay attention, and try to use feedback for future activities!
