Japanese Level 4, Activity #2: “Gifts” / “贈り物” (Face-to-Face)

Description:

In this activity, students will practice gift giving by choosing and explaining a gift to give to a celebrity. Then, they will receive an item card that they will describe the function of. Finally, they will give these items to each other, explaining to each other why they gave it.

Warm-Up

  1. Give each student a celebrity card.
    Instructions in the target language.
  2. Have the students think of something that will make the celebrity’s life easier
    1. Use 差し上げる/あげる/やる
      差し上げる・あげる・やるを練習するアクティビティです。
    2. Give a gift to the celebrity
      芸能人にプレセントをあげてください. 
  3. Example:
    You have the Paris Hilton card and you think a dog leash will help her.
    犬のリードをあげたら助かると思います。
