Warm-Up

Last One Standing

  1. Have the students stand up and start clapping slowly (in a rhythm)
    Instructions in the target language.
  2. For each round , the students will say a word related to a topic after the third clap.
    Instructions in the target language.
  3. If they cannot think of a word after the third clap, they are out.
    Instructions in the target language.
  4. Repeat this until there is only one student standing.

    1. Have them sit down.
  5. There will be a different topic for each round.

  6. Ex. Pig
    Instructions in the target language.

    1. Clap, clap, clap “PINK”
    2. Clap, clap, clap “GOOD”

    4. Clap, clap, clap, “???” ← this person is out.

Main Activity

Flyswatter Game

  1. Spread out the flyswatter cards on the table
    Instructions in the target language.
  2. Pick the cards randomly and say it out loud.

    1. It would be easy for you if you cross the words out on the answer key as you go.
  3. Students will try to get the card
    Instructions in the target language.
  4. The student with the most cards at the end wins.

Charades

  1. Students will take turns acting out a verb from Chapter 8.
    Instructions in the target language.

    1. Pick a random verb from the list
  2. The other students will try to guess what the student is acting out.

Wrap-Up

  1. Have you ever been rumored?

  2. Have you ever experienced a disaster?

  3. Have you ever seen a thief?

    their confidence.
