Introduction

This book was adapted from Population Health for Nurses with some content added from Building Bridges: Establishing a Foundation for Interpersonal Collaboration in Healthcare to support RN-BS students in learning population health nursing concepts and applying them through an experiential learning project. The experiential learning project involves a community-based teaching project focused on disease prevention/promotion of health and well-being in the pediatric population.

To support this specific focus, key modifications in this remixed text included:

  • Mixing relevant content and removing content from chapter section(s) to form new chapters
  • Develop or update headings to promote flow and clarity
  • Updating sources and data
  • Adding text and section box to each chapter by stating the topics covered in each chapter
  • Adding text and section boxes to chapters 9-13 on important course information,
  • Developing an appendix specific to this adapted source,
  • Removing images from chapter, and
  • Adding or updating text, as needed to discuss or expand on a particular topic or provide flow and clarity of re-mixed text.

Attributions are provided with each chapter for easy reference of all adaptations of the original resources.
