Program Learning Outcomes

Faculty create “Program Learning Outcomes” for each undergraduate and graduate program at Boise State University (Learn more here). The Ed.S. / EdTech program has six such outcomes, which students need to address in various projects done during their program, including in their capstone project. We use feedback from students, assessments of assignments, and other input about the PLO’s to help judge how the program is effective and in which ways it might be improved. Faculty work to generate a “program area report” every three years. Students do not directly contribute to the PAR process (except by way of surveys), but they should be aware of them PLO’s so that they are aware of how they connect to the goals and objectives of each course.

PLO 1:  Locate and synthesize literature in educational technology.

PLO 2:  Collaborate with others in educational technology area (experts, peers, stakeholders, etc.) to design and implement a project.

PLO 3: Use knowledge and skills gained about educational technology to enhance practice and/or influence policy using accepted professional guidelines and procedures.

PLO 4: Engage in critical analysis of theory as it applies to leadership in the context of educational technology

PLO 5: Articulate research methods used in the field of education and use selected methods to answer, or potentially answer, questions about educational technology interventions.

PLO 6: Describe the challenges and opportunities that arise at the intersection of ethical issues and the field of educational technology
