5 Audra Dooley

I came to Boise in 2003, about 5 months after I was born. From there I went through school, like most, and eventually attended Capital High School in Boise. For a long time, I wanted to leave the state and get a fresh start. I thought that this was the norm for all graduated high school students, you get away from your family. I was planning on attending Point Loma Nazarene University (PLNU) in San Diego, CA. A year or so into high school I realized how much more expensive it would be to go out of the state compared to staying in-state. I also grew a much closer bond with my family and realized how much I really wanted and should stay here. I ended up skipping my junior year of high school making it so I needed to decide where to go faster than I had originally thought. I would either go to NNU or BSU. NNU being a Nazarene university would have a Christian atmosphere that would be really nice. This is also what I liked about PLNU. I decided that I would rather have a more diverse community and have more opportunities which I would find at BSU. BSU is also about 30 minutes closer to home than NNU. I now go here and am studying psychology. I’ve been really happy with my decision so far!
