1 Jesse Bellamy

The first time I saw the light of day was in Missoula, Montana on July 14, 2000. Interestingly, I had almost died hours after being born due to complications with my mother’s and my blood mixing in the womb. The parents who brought me into this world were Don and Consuelo Bellamy. Being an only child, I have been with my parents my entire life from the day I was born to when I when I left for Boise State being showered with love and affection. I am tremendously grateful for all they have done for me. Other than being born in another state, I have lived in Salmon, Idaho my entire life. My young life consisted of mainly living and working on our family 350-acre ranch, playing sports with my friends and parents, and watching tv, in particular, college football. From the moment I saw the Blue Turf, I was hooked. I could not stop watching the Broncos. While pretending to dodge a tackle from a 250 pound 6’5” linebacker, I would play catch with my dad. As a vacation, the family would sometimes go to the games in Albertson’s Stadium and cheer on the team. Years go by and 2015, my freshman year of high school, began. Through all the new people and problems, I was able to find a program that allowed students to go on college tours for a small fee. At first, I thought nothing of it, but my mother was able to convince me to go on the trip. I got to visit many Idaho colleges including ISU, CSI, NNU, but most importantly Boise State University. It was at that time where a seed began to grow that would later bloom into my desire to go to college in Boise. The 2018-2019 school year finally came and with it a plethora of foreign ideas like the senior project, college and scholarship applications, and becoming an adult. I had visited many different colleges including BSU (again), but I still knew in my heart that I wanted to Boise State. I submitted my application to the Honors College that year and after many agonizing months of wait, I received my letter of acceptance. I was thrilled and could not wait to go to college. In May of 2019, I graduated high school and moved onto the world of higher education at Boise State University.
