21 Shelby Day

Shelby Day has had long successful careers in both Visual Arts and Historic Preservation. As an artist, she began painting in grade school and had her first job by age 12 in a pottery studio. She is a wide ranging multi-media artist and small business owner. In Historic Preservation, Shelby has worked throughout the Northwest and extensively in the Columbia River Basin and with Northwest Tribes. Combining the two fields, Shelby is also an accomplished technical illustrator, having multiple illustrations published even before graduating with her Bachelor’s. Shelby holds a double major Bachelor’s in Visual Art and Anthropology from BSU, a Graduate Certificate in Community and Regional Planning also from BSU, and a Master’s of Public Administration from Arkansas State University. Paris Boddie, a student interviewer for Shared Stories Lab, conducted the interview.
