What are the minimum qualifications for this position?
The minimum qualifications include being good at a subject, being good at communicating, and being good at making lesson plans. There are not many specific requirements on their website or on the recruiting website, so I do wonder how they filter through people. They don’t even require prior teaching experience.
What are some other skills that would be helpful in this job?
Being able to analyze data would also be helpful in this job. Taking students’ assessments to formulate your next lesson plan for them would help to make you a better tutor.

To help you prepare to be a Spanish tutor for varsity tutors it would be helpful to take as many language classes as you can and to take courses on lesson planning.
