This textbook guides students through the process of creating a prior learning portfolio, which includes crafting a prior learning resume, writing an educational narrative, and gathering supporting documentation. Students can use this portfolio to petition for academic credits based on college-level learning done outside of a traditional college classroom.

Written specifically for students at Boise State University pursuing Credit for Prior Learning, but applicable for students at many institutions.

Produced in partnership with Boise State University’s eCampus Center through the Open Book Summer Grant Program 2020.

The Open Education Development Series Companion Guide provides insight into the conception, design, and facilitation of Boise State University's Open Education Development Series (OEDS). The OEDS is a set of openly licensed courses available on Canvas Commons that support faculty knowledge, use, and creation of open education resources (OER). Following our AIM strategy, we explain the Alignment processes that helped ensure our series was both rigorous and adaptable to faculty readiness levels; the approach we took to Incentivize the program; and our efforts in providing Mentorship and support to the faculty participants. If you are looking to use the OEDS in whole or in part at your institution, or if you are seeking some ideas or inspiration behind your own open education development program, we hope you find value and use in this companion guide.

Français inclusif is a four-semester French curriculum that celebrates the Francophone world and our students’ unique perspectives and ways of living. The instructional materials emphasize developing 21st-century skills and preparing students for their future careers. Materials available for each level include a textbook, assessments, instructor slide decks, and cultural reflections. This interactive textbook for French 202 (Level 4) contains four modules, each focused on thematic vocabulary, grammar, and interactive exercises: L’amour et l’argent, Les voyages et les transports, La planète, and L’art et l’expression. Within the textbook, students can study vocabulary using flashcards, review grammar concepts, and test their comprehension via interactive exercises.

This text contains four modules comprised of four to five parts. Most parts containing the following:
– Le vocabulaire (Vocabulary)
– Explication de grammaire (Grammar explanation)
– Les exercices (You will complete these for practice as part of your weekly homework assignments)

Modules also contain an introduction page with learning objectives, a cultural reflection assignment, a presentational speaking and/or writing assessment, and Allez plus loin (Go further) page which contains additional content. Instructor materials including slide presentations and IPA assessments are also available.
