With advancements in AI coming to us daily, this lesson is designed to guide students in using AI responsibly to help them navigate running errands in a Francophone town. My hope is that students not only gain a larger understanding of the content, but also learn how to responsibly use AI to help them on their language journeys.

NCSSFL-ACTFL Can-Do Statements:

  • I can understand conversations between customers and shopkeepers in French.
  • I can have a conversation with a shopkeeper to make a purchase or accomplish a task in French.
  • I can express my feelings in French.

About the Activity

I’ve created a French lesson using AI, focusing on vocabulary for errands and town places. Students need prior knowledge of town places, cultural aspects like interacting with shopkeepers, and expressing feelings. The lesson includes videos of daily interactions in France, chat GPT activities, and reflection prompts for a holistic learning experience.
