❔Arabic Level 4, Activity 06: “3 Reasons Why? / ٣ أسباب لماذا؟” (Face-to-Face/Online)

In this activity, students will read different situations/scenarios, with a partner they will try to come up with 3 different solutions and multiple reasons explaining WHY did this happen.
Semantic Topics:

Grammatical Structures:
Why?, لماذا؟ The nominal sentence, الجملة الاسمية
Products: question and reason.
Practices: interacting with a partner to come up with solutions.
Perspectives: being able to find more than one reason is important and would help in enhancing problem-solving skills with the targeted language.
- Standard 1.1: Students engage in conversations or correspondence in Arabic to provide and obtain information, express feelings and emotions, and exchange opinions.
- Standard 1.2: Students understand and interpret spoken and written Arabic on a variety of topics.
- Standard 2.1: Students demonstrate an understanding of the relationship between the practices and perspectives of the cultures of the Arab world.
- Standard 4.2: Students demonstrate an understanding of the concept of culture through comparisons between the cultures of the Arab world and their own

Materials Needed:
Warm-Up
- you will be explaining the different ways of answering the question WHY? by reading the table.

Main Activity
- In pairs, students will take turns reading the situation provided, and come up with 3 reasons why.

- Ask students, to answer one of the 3 questions: What is your favorite food? Why?. What is your favorite hobby? Why?. What was the worst book you have ever read? Why?.

End of Activity
- Ask students, to answer one of the 3 questions: What is your favorite food? Why?. What is your favorite hobby? Why?. What was the worst book you have ever read? Why?.
- Read Can-Do statements once more and have students evaluate
their confidence.

- Pay attention, and try to use feedback for future activities!
