🎤Arabic Level 4, Activity 01: “Arabic Famous Singers / أشْهر مُغنيين العَرَب” (Face-to-Face/Online)

Description:
Students will start by introducing themselves and their classmates. and then they will discuss popular artists and celebrities in Middle-eastern World. They will pick one celebrity and introduce him/her to their classmates. Students will also learn descriptive words and how to describe the celebrity outfit.

Practices: listening to Arabic songs, talking about celebrities, and describing outfits.
Perspectives: there are so many Arab contemporary singers and celebrities coming to the scene nowadays. search about 1-2 singers and share what you learned about them. most of the Arab singers like to wear the traditional clothes that belong to the Middle Eastern country they are performing in.

Materials Needed:
Warm-Up
- Begin by introducing the Can-Dos for today’s activity
ابدأ بتقديم Can-Dos لنشاط اليوم.
- Discuss “what did you do over the winter break?”
تناقشوا عن “ماذا فعلت خلال عطلة الشتاء؟”. - Ask the students to introduce themselves first and then pick up one of their classmates to introduce him/her. (age, major, hobbies, etc…)
اطلب من الطلاب تقديم أنفسهم أولاً ثم اختيار أحد زملائهم في الفصل لتقديمه (العمر ، التخصص ، الهوايات ، إلخ …).
Main Activity
- You will be introducing pictures of a couple of Arab Worlds singers to students. you will be assigning 2 cards for each student to describe the celebrity.
ستقدم صورًا لبعض المطربين من العالم العربي للطلاب. ستخصص بطاقتين لكل طالب لوصفهم. - Then, each student will need to search for their assigned singer for 5 min/ about 3 – 4 pieces of information describing him/her. for example, a picture, name, nationality, age, and describe the look.

- play the first 2 min of “لا مستحيلا” song and the song for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Arabic version, and then ask students if they recognize any celebrity to write his/her name down and share it.

- play the first 2 min of “لا مستحيلا” song and the song for FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, the Arabic version, and then ask students if they recognize any celebrity to write his/her name down and share it.
- Read Can-Do statements once more and have students evaluate
their confidence.
