Main Activity

Students will have a “Meet and Greet” party where they will pretend to be the person on their card.

1. The instructor will share the card link with students in the chat. Each student will either be assigned or may choose an “identity” to assume.

2. The instructor will put students in break out rooms with partners.

3. Have students leave breakout rooms voluntarily when they are done with their interaction, and assign new breakout rooms so they can talk with as many of their classmates as possible!

It may be a good idea to have them pick a new identity for every new breakout room to keep the conversation fresh.

4. Students will discuss with each other, asking each other questions and responding based on the information on their cards including the emotion displayed by the emoji.

(What is your name?)
  • Wie alt bist du? (How old are you?)
  • Woher kommst du? (Where are you from?)

5. The students should practice using the formal tense for their answers.

Play Hangman with students.

  • Spielen sie Henker mit den Schülern.
