Warm-Up

  1.  Begin by opening the Google Slideshow and  introduce the Can-Dos for the activity.
  2.  Pass out the World Cup 2022 schedule (this was originally used during the World Cup play but can easily be used after the fact, just preface it with “imagine it’s 2022 and the beginning of the World Cup”…etc.).
Geben Sie den Schüler den Weltmeisterschaft Spielplan.
  3. Ask the students what type of information they can gather from the schedule. Then ask specific questions like: When does Germany play Japan? Or: “Who does Germany play on Monday?” etc. You can also preview/review telling time by asking questions about when they play!
Was bedeutet “MO, DI, MI, DO, usw.?”

  7.  Drag and drop: print off enough copies of slide 6 for students to work with a partner. They will cut out the flag icons, then going back to the World cup schedule, they will drag and drop the flag under the days of the week that each team plays
