Description: Students will practice asking each other questions related to the different topics they learned about in the class.

Semantic Topics: Music, Musik,  Adjectives, Adverbs, Adjektive Adverben.

Products: Music Training Link, Link zum Musiktraining.

Practices: Understanding people through the type of music they enjoy.  Menschen durch die Art von Musik verstehen, die sie genießen.

Perspectives: Value in every type of music and in individual preference.  Wert in jeder Art von Musik und in individueller Vorliebe.

NCSSFL-ACTFL World-Readiness Standards:

  • Standard 1.1: Students engage in conversations, provide and obtain information, express feelings and emotions, and exchange opinions.
  • Standard 1.2: Students understand and interpret written and spoken language on a variety of topics.

  • Objective: COMM 1.1 Interact and negotiate meaning (spoken, signed, written conversation) to share information, reactions, feelings, and opinions.
  • Objective: COMM 2.1 Understand, interpret, and analyze what is heard, read, or viewed on a variety of topics.

Warm-Up

1. Discuss the Can-Do Statements with the Students.

 

Music Training Instructions

2. Share your screen and make sure to also click the share computer audio so they can hear the music.

3. Students find a song that they like.

4. They then choose what level they want but a beginner level is recommended.

5. They should then choose the fill mode instead of write mode (in the top right corner of the video area.)

6. They don’t have to make an account.

1. Students will be put in pairs and assigned A or B cards. Share the link to these cards in the chat!

2. They will go into breakout rooms and conduct interviews, asking and answering questions that will go off each other.

The instructor should go into breakout rooms to make sure students are interviewing each other.

3. Students will return to the main room once finished.

  • Read Can-Do statements once more and have students evaluate their confidence. (Use thumbs up/thumbs down)
  • Encourage students to be honest in their self-evaluation.
  • Pay attention, and try to use feedback for future activities!
